A Message from the Sunset Alumni Association

Alumni functions/gatherings:
We want to come up with ideas that we might be able to do regarding alumni functions/gatherings.  It would not be as a fund raiser, but instead a break even type of event regarding cost.  I've had several alumni ask when or if we have anything like this.  The golf tournament idea was along the same line.  I think the more we can bring the alumni together, the better we improve our chances of getting them involved which turns in to more money for grants.

Two new Board titles:  These would be a Historian and a Public Relations person.  The Historian position speaks for it self.  The PR person would handle getting info about us to the media regarding things we are doing.  We can fine tune the position descriptions at our meeting.

Open positions on the Board   Third, are our open positions on the Board.  We currently have three positions open.  If you have anyone in mind for a vacant position, contact them to let them know we are filling the positions and see if they would be interested.  If so, you can get their name to me and I will take those names to our meeting and discus it.  Then we can contact those interested and have them speak to the board.  With three positions open, it would be more professional to discus each person and what they could bring to our Board and then invite them to the next meeting.

The August edition of the HERD was mailed Aug. 18th. The e-HERD was delivered the same day. To receive the HERD as a pdf attachment to e-mail, just send an e-mail to theherd@theherd.net  Put e-herd on the subject line.
The e-herd

You can choose to receive the HERD by e-mail. It is in PDF format. If you are not sure what that means, go to the NEWSLETTER ARCHIVES tab above and scroll down to Herd # 52, Apr 2008 and open it. That is exactly what the e-herd will look like. You can read it on screen or print it out.

Let me re-phrase that.  I am working on an idea. Color photographs may appear in color in future e-HERDs. The hard copy will always remain purple and white.

If you choose the electronic version, simply e-mail the HERD and put e-herd on the subject line. If you encounter problems, you may revert back to the mailed edition at any time.

Here's where to ask a question, make a statement, hail or harass:
